In an effort to increase member benefits, IAS has created the IAS Resource Center. This Resource Center will house technical information such as webinars, slides and white papers. IAS members will be requested to sign in to access this information free of charge. Anyone that is not an active member of IAS will be charged a fee to access this information.

First Industrial and Commercial Power System European Conference (I&CPS)
The first Industrial and Commercial Power System European Conference will take place 6-9 June 2017 in Milan, Italy.
The scope of the Industrial and Commercial Power Systems Department includes all matters within the scope of IAS relating to the technology of electric power generation, transmission or distribution in industrial, commercial and institutional facilities, and within that segment of industry associated specifically with rural or agricultural applications.
The scope also includes the creation of related technical standards governing such applications. The objective of I&CPS shall be the advancement of the theory and practice of engineering as it relates to design and management of electrical power systems and comfort conditioning systems within industrial plants, commercial buildings and institutional facilities, and electrical power systems that serve primarily agricultural areas. The fields of electronics and computer science as applied to industrial and commercial power systems or to electrical comfort conditioning also fall within the objectives of I&CPS.

IEEE Outstanding Achievement Award
(first presented in 1969)
This award honors an individual who has made an outstanding contribution in the application of electricity to industry in accordance with the scope of the IEEE Industry Applications Society.
Prize: US$5,000 and engraved statuette

Distinguished Service Award
(first presented in 1988)
This award recognizes an individual for dedication and service to the IEEE Industry Applications Society.

IEEE IAS Andrew W. Smith Outstanding Young Member Award
(established in 1996 and renamed in 2009)
This award recognizes outstanding achievement and contribution to the profession through involvement in IEEE IAS activities by an IAS member younger than 35 years of age.
Prize: US$2,500, plaque and travel expenses to attend the IAS Annual Meeting
Eligibility: Nominees must be younger than age 35 at the specified award nomination due date. To be considered as a nominee, a one-page form must be completed describing IAS activities and associated contributions made by the nominee. The form must be submitted and received by the IAS President before 15 March.
Basis for judging: Outstanding contribution to the profession in the form of IEEE/IAS activities such as (but not limited to):
IEEE IAS Outstanding Young Member Service Award
(established in 2015)
This award recognizes an individual younger than 35 years of age, who, through dedication and service, distinguished him/herself to IAS.
Prize: US$2,500, plaque, and travel reimbursement to an IAS conference for recognition
Eligibility: Members of the IEEE Industry Applications Society younger than 35 years of age are eligible.

The 6th International Youth Conference on Energy (IYCE) will be held In Budapest, Hungary, 21-24 June 2017.

2017 IEEE International Electric Machines and Drives Conference (IEMDC)
The IEEE International Electric Machines and Drives Conference (IEMDC) has been established as a major event. Its inaugural conference was held in Milwaukee, WI, USA in 1997. The IEMDC 2017 anniversary session will be held 21-24 May 2017 in beautiful and sunny Miami, FL, USA close to many tourist attractions and just across the causeway to Miami Beach and the art deco district.
The scope of the conference includes technology advances in design, analysis, manufacturing and measurements for electrical machines and drives. Topics covered include rotating electrical machines; special machines, sensors, and actuators; electrical drives; condition monitoring, fault detection, noise and vibration; embedded applications. IEMDC 2017 will include oral and poster technical sessions for papers describing original and previously unpublished work, plenary sessions with invited speakers, tutorials, and exhibits. 2017 IEEE International Transportation Electrification Conference and Expo, Asia-Pacific (ITEC Asia-Pacific 2017) will be held in Harbin, China, 2-5 August 2017. 2017 Brazilian Power Electronics Conference (COBEP)
The Brazilian Power Electronics Conference is one of the most important Brazilian forums for researchers in power electronics. It is an outstanding opportunity to present our work and interact with each other, strengthening the participation of industry and academia. The 14th edition of COBEP is being organized by the Brazilian Power Electronics Society (SOBRAEP) and by the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF).
