Distinguished Lecturers
The Systems Council currently has eleven active Distinguished Lecturers (DLs). The purpose of this program is to increase awareness about topics relevant to Systems Council by creating a pool of subject matter experts who are willing to speak to IEEE Chapters, Sections, Societies and Councils.

To view the DLs, find out how to request a DL speech, or apply to become a DL, visit our website.

Systems Council Chapter Creation
A Chapter is a geographical sub-unit of an IEEE entity and is established by petition to the IEEE. Chapters are concerned with representing and fulfilling the needs of the member in their specific geographical area. Chapters allow members to meet face to face and host local activities.

The Systems Council currently is looking to expand through the use of Chapters. Creating a Systems Council or Joint Chapter is easily done through a petition, submitted to IEEE. For more information on this process please visit the IEEE website or contact Marco Parvis, VP Member Services. View a list of current Systems Council Chapters on our website.

About the IEEE Systems Council Newsletter

The IEEE Systems Council Newsletter includes time sensitive news useful to its members, and highlights content from the current issue of IEEE Systems Journal.

President's Message

Dear Colleagues,

A new and exciting year is ahead! We are working intensively to finalize the organization of 2017 IEEE Systems Conference to be held in Montreal, Canada. At the same time, we are almost ready to publish the Call for Papers for the IEEE Symposium on Systems Engineering that will take place in the beautiful city of Vienna, Austria, in October 2017.

There are indicators of great vitality among systems engineers participating in our activities, as a new Chapter was officially formed: the IEEE Long Island Section Systems Council Chapter. Also, this year, the IEEE Systems Council will deliver the Systems Journal Best Paper Award for the first time.

We have a good start to the year in Systems Engineering!
