IEEE Power Electronics, Drives, and Energy System (PEDES) Conference 2020

The IEEE PEDES 2020 steering and organizing committees have been continuously monitoring the updates on the COVID-19 status in India and other countries. Our primary concern is the health, safety, and comfort of our attendees. In light of growing concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, and the consequent travel constraints, after much thoughtful deliberation, it is decided not to move forward with the in-person conference but to organize the conference “virtually” using web-based online presentation.

PEDES 2020’s organizing committee is committed to communicating responsibly as planning continues to evolve towards a successful event. Planning is already underway to assemble and deploy a virtual conference platform to preserve value for attendees and speakers. Please await further details.

All papers presented will go to IEEE Xplore and will be eligible for further review for publication in IAS Transactions and magazine.

In view of this situation, the digest submission deadline has been extended to 1 July 2020.

A Reduced registration fee structure will be available very soon on the website.

Please visit our conference webpage for timely updates and stay safe!

Volunteer Opportunities

IAS is seeking qualified volunteers to work on publications, committees, and conferences. Please submit an inquiry by filling out a volunteer application on the IAS website.

Call for IAS Volunteers :
The IAS has created four (4) Ad Hoc panels to immediately pursue work on 4 key strategic goals to enhance the value of IAS for its members and for human society:

1) IAS Sustainability projects
2) Bridge-Building, Alliances and Partnering projects
3) Professional & Career Development Resources for our Members
4) Projects Benefitting Humanity

This is an open call for all IAS members to accept this invitation to come and join us as a volunteer in this important effort. Do you have a passion to be involved in any of these areas? Then let us know. We will have micro-volunteer work available for individuals who can make only limited time commitments (such as our IAS Student members). Join the IEEE Transportation Electrification Community (TEC)

As a member of the IEEE Industry Applications Society, there is no fee to join the community.

TEC focuses on technologies, organizations and projects enable the clean, connected and efficient transportation and vehicular systems of the future. Discussions include electric and hybrid cars and trucks, more-electric aircraft, electric rail and light rail systems, electric ships, off-road vehicles, grid interfaces and other forms of more-electric transportation.

The community discusses key enabling technologies, including batteries and energy storage, battery charging and management, power electronics, electric motors and drives, networked vehicles, fuel cells, wireless power transfer, and system integration. The community takes a leadership role in vehicle to grid (V2G) and grid interaction issues, IEEE standards in transportation and vehicles, high performance electric traction, student electric transportation competitions, and vehicle intelligence.
